If your current long-distance or toll-free service isn’t working, then you have to do something. Either fix the issue or make the change. It’s as simple as that yet as we all know, life’s not simple, and neither is business.
Explore Your Options
If you’re exploring the idea or maybe it’s just an idea currently on the back of your mind we reccomend exploring your options. Talk to a few carriers, ask them what they think of your current performance. If you’re able to share a recent invoice or a CDR, most voice carriers will be able to give you a breakdown on how they could help you improve.
Here at Televergence, we’ve even been able to help non-customers resolve issues with their current carriers just by a simple review of a CDR and an Interop. Not all voice carriers will offer this, but it’s a possibility if you ask.
If you don’t walk to talk directly to a carrier, then contact a telecom agent and let them know what issues you currently have with your toll-free and long-distance voice provider. Chance is they have connections with various providers and can help steer you in the right direction.
Most agents hope to hold long term relationships with any of their clients, which can help you and your business. They are less likely to screw you in a deal. Agents will want to work as a liaison between your contact center and various service/equipment providers. In agents world the philosophy “you don’t bite the hand that feeds you” stands above them all.
If you’re toll-free and long-distance service isn’t working, then don’t be afraid to reach out and ask questions. Contact various resources to ensure you’re getting the proper care you deserve. Don’t be hesitant to use more than one of the options described above.
